Notes: The tribulations of life and television have delayed this conclusion far too long. Two years after we conceived it, I have the pleasure of finally posting it while sitting next to [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria once again. From me and my first collaborator on the Cylon Internet: here's to making our own futures, no matter how much time it takes.

The BSG characters on twitter continue to bring me endless joy and LOLZ, and the volume has picked up dramatically in season 4.5 with an influx of new characters (don't miss @Hera_Agathon). Clearly manually archiving the RPG in @cylonhybrid's favorites is no longer sustainable: the previous 30 pages of 20 posts each span October-January, and now we've seen more than that so far this month!

There's now a NEW AND IMPROVED datastream using Y!Pipes: http://pipes.yahoo.com/cyborganize/bsgrpg (the description includes further info)

Previous archives remain the same, except that I stripped the altar party in the bathtub room from favorites (it's safe and sound in the documentation post). I realized too late that this was unnecessary and misguided, and I can't put the tweets back now because, in a source of infinite hassles today, they display in the order they were favorited rather than the order they were posted. Votes on whether I should remove everything prior to that from favorites as well, in order to make each archival source unique (i.e. favorites will begin after the screencaptures)?

JUMP!!!

Because clearly, ten just wasn't enough, here is the first of two planned bonus vidlets to round out my [livejournal.com profile] thearchive2 project to a Cylonic dozen. The next one will be for the actual bonus challenge (crossover) but this one is Mod's Choice, and the Mod chose a remix.

Title: Sunday Bloody Sunday: Mambo Remix
Video: Battlestar Galactica (2003)
Audio: Sunday Bloody Sunday - Richard Cheese
Summary: Remix of [livejournal.com profile] tallulah71's vid Sunday Bloody Sunday. Humans and Cylons. Are you ready to learn how to mambo?
Editor's Notes: This was [livejournal.com profile] cyborganize's crazed, genius brainchild, but man was it fun to make. MAMBO! I'd also like to thank [livejournal.com profile] tallulah71 for permission to remix her vid, and thoroughly recommend you go watch the original if you haven't seen it. Hell, if you have, go watch it again.

vid title: Cylon Runner
audio: Blade Runner: The Final Cut trailer
source: Battlestar Galactica
duration: 1:06
summary: Faux Battlestar Galactica trailer using Blade Runner
notes: When planning out what I wanted to do with each of challenges, I knew I wanted to create a faux trailer for challenge 06 - hybrid. I've noticed a recurring cross-pollination among my interest in robots. Earlier this year I created a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles vid, Does Cameron Dream of Electric Sheep?, which was a reference to the book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the basis for Blade Runner.

Through conversations with other members of the community, it became apparent that Blade Runner was the obvious choice. Battlestar Galactica certainly owes a great deal to Blade Runner in terms of theme and idea. They both deal with implanted memories, vague questioning of being human, love, and other aspects. With the Cylon, they have their own culture, faith, justice, ideas, and history. They are not human, but what is so wonderful about being human? Why is it so important that we consider and question whether the Cylon are "more human than human"? As [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria has mentioned, the difference between Battlestar Galactica and Blade Runner was the nature of the robots. For her, the existence of replicants never "clouded what it actually meant to be human". I thought about that for a bit because I agreed, yet I think that while the existence of robots don't always call the essence of humanity into question, they at least can make humanity question themselves.

I had almost completed the vid and was in need of static source. Everyone in The Know knows to go to [livejournal.com profile] bradcpu for static source, but he was luckily out the door to VVC. I was still debating what to name the fake trailer. [livejournal.com profile] projectjulie sent me a friend request on imeem, which then made me watch everything on her account. I found her season three BSG vblog in which she refers to an aspect of BSG, Cylon Runner, so Bang! there's my title.

On a personal note: This vid, obviously, marks the completion of our Season 4.0 vidlet project. It's been a wild and awesome ride. I hope everyone who's been watching has enjoyed it and enjoys the final (and slightly longer) installment. We hope to keep the project alive in some form when the series finally returns in '09. By then I will be responsibly employed (well, I'd better be!) and have less time to sit around cutting footage on my laptop. For a project this awesome, though, I'll find time. Thanks everyone for all the feedback you've provided throughout - I'm really glad we saw this through!
